Chelsea and PSG go head to head for Midfielder as Liverpool's interest cools

The agent of Manuel Ugarte, Jorge Chijane has confirmed that his client is a man in demand ahead of the summer window.

The Sporting midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the month but both Chelsea and PSG Paris Saint-German have also now turn attention to the Uruguayan.

Liverpool are currently more focused on the signing of Argentine midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and this opens up the opportunity for one Chelsea and PSG to beat the Reds to Ugarte.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool need to strengthen their midfield due to the shortage of options and departures while PSG are looking to recruit new players as some of their options have not really convince on the big stage.

While the French club are expected to hire a new manager, their interest in Ugarte could be cooled as they continue the search for Christophe Galtier's successor.

However, Chelsea as well as PSG are reportedly willing to be the 22-year old's valuation of €60 million to lure him away from the Portuguese club.

Premier clubs have a reputation of signing midfielders from Portugal in the last couple of windows and Bruno Fernandes, Fabio Vieira, Matheus Nunes and Joao Palhinha have secured big moves in that period.

Ugarte, who only moved to Portugal in the winter of 2021 could be about to continue the trend.
