Newcastle United vs Chelsea: Team news, Form guide, score and lineup Predictions

Newcastle United continue the search for their first win under their new owners as they welcome league leaders and European Champions Chelsea to the Saint James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle United host Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, 30, October 2021.

The Magpies are yet to win a game this season across all competitions and despite the positive atmosphere around the club brought by the takeover, they have been unable to celebrate that with a win on the field.

The visit of Chelsea will be their third game under the new management and on current evidence, they should remain without a win at full time. However, history at home against Thomas Tuchel is a positive on their side.

Newcastle United have lost two in their last eight home games against Chelsea, winning five and interim boss Graeme Jones will only be hopeful on Saturday that history swings the contest to their favour. However, against a well organized Chelsea side, they will need more than that to get anything.

Chelsea come into the game in good form after following up their 7-0 demolition of Norwich City with a place in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup in the mid-week shootout win over Southampton.

Despite missing some of their big names, they always look dangerous and with the winning touch. Strikers, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are on the sidelines but for a side that has produced 17 different Goalscorer across all competitions this season, that is never a cause for alarm.

They completed the double over Newcastle last season without conceding a goal and with a defense that now look more solid and unbreakable, it will make the task more difficult for the host, who averages just 1.2 goals per game.

Verdict: All points to a maximum three points for the blues to leave their host looking for their first win of the season on another day.

Predicted line-ups

Newcastle United : Darlow, Ritchie, Clark, Laecelles, Kraft, Manquillo, Longstaff, Willock, Hayden, Saint-Maximin, Wilson.

Chelsea: Mendy, Chilwell, Rudiger, Christensen, Azpilicueta, James, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz.
