The Italian set a record of 41 unbeaten home games in the Italian top-flight between 2015 and 2017 and after Jose Mourinho's AS Roma defeated Udinese last night in Rome, the Portuguese equalled the record.

Mourinho left Inter Milan in 2010 whilst on a run of 38 home games without a loss and returned to Italy this season, winning all three home games played in the league so far to match Allegri's feat.

The former Inter boss will have the chance to surpass the Juventus boss in the first weekend of October, when his side play host to Newly promoted Empoli.
