Fred - The Unsung Hero That Makes Manchester United Tick

If there is a player who explains the need for fans to stop judging players with their first season performance in the premier league, then the name Fred should be on everybody's lips.

This is because the most important work on the pitch is winning possession, and it is the duty of a defensive midfielder to do this among other responsibilities charged him on the pitch.

People tend to characterize being a great player as the ability for you to score goals and most times give assists, making some fantastic players to turn into unsung heroes. Players like Yaya Toure, N'Golo Kanté, Fabinho among others k have fallen into this unlucky bracket, as fans do not realise their importance. Meanwhile, they are game changers and winners that are not given the praises they deserve.

How?

This is because the most overworked part of a football pitch in a football game is the defensive midfield position, as players here are meant to overwork themselves to make sure the ball is on their side always. Then when you have an excellent one in your team who fights a lot, without getting enough praises, its quite unfair. This explains why Fred is more or less one of the crucial players in the Manchester United team.

Can Fred cement his place as one of the best Ever?

Well, with top performances from the Brazilian alongside Scott McTominay in the middle of the park for United in th later stages of last season, with no signs of slowing down, maybe we have gotten a Roy Keane type of player in our hands. When you have an excellent one in your team who fights a lot, without getting enough praises, its quite unfair.

With reference to the previous season, Fred alongside McTominay bossed the midfield in a host matches for The Reds, and the Brazilian's brilliance was overlooked, his strength and zeal to win the ball, have recently caught the attention of fans who have been impressed, and even though there are still little flaws in his passing prowess,  he is still one of the team's best players.

His recognition however will depend on the amount success, individual and silverware wise, he is able to win as a football player.
