Spanish sport outlet, MARCA has reported that FC Barcelona have finally given up on resigning Neymar from PSG, with the club's executives urging the team and the press to stop feeding rumours as it will not be possible because of their financial situation due to the coronavirus.
The Catalan club have been linked with a move to bring back Neymar, who left the Spanish club in the summer of 2017 for €222m, making him the most expensive football player in hisory.
The Brazilian has also confessed to wanting a move back to his former club but the club have now decided against signing him due to financial situation.
Neymar joined Barcelona in 2013 from boyhood club Santos, and enjoyed a successful spell with the club forming a devastating trident alongside Messi and Luis Suarez.
He scored 105 goals in 186 appearances before ending his time at the club with a move to PSG in 2017.
