Saul Niguez Sparks a Social Media Frenzy After a Cryptic Post

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has told fans to expect a statement about his new club in the next three days.

In a cryptic Twitter post, the 25-year-old player, who has played 37 matches for Atletico Madrid this season and scored four goals, said he wouldn't reveal to his followers any details until the next 72 hours.

"New club. I'll announce it in three days..." he wrote.

If the news was about a transfer to a different club, fans would not have much to deal with because it won't be the first time players has teased their fans when leaving their club. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antoine Griezmann as examples.

The Spain international  for a couple of seasons now dating back to the era of Louis Van Gaal as manager has been linked to Manchester United.

The player has a £135m buyout clause and reports in England claim that United are offering a wage bill in excess of £200,000 per week.

Paul Pogba's future remains uncertain, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's scouts reportedly recommended the Spain International as a possible replacement for him.

If Saul were to sign for United and replace Pogba this summer, he could slot into a midfield three alongside Fred or McTominay or Matic, with Bruno Fernandes occupying an advanced attacking role - The Portuguese playmaker doing what he knows best how to do ahead of two natural defensive midfielders and there could be few able to fill the role better than Saul.
