Arsenal return to the UCL in style with a demolition of PSV

 Arsenal marked the long awaited return to the UEFA Champions League with an emphatic display against Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven, winning 4-0 under the floodlights in the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners, who last participated in the Europe number one club competition in the 2016-17 season started the game very brightly and Bukayo Saka put them in front eight minutes into his Champions League debut. Leandro Trossard, from a Bukayo Saka assist doubled Mikel Arteta's side advantage in the 20th minute while Gabriel Jesus made it 3-0 few minutes before the break, assisted by Leandro Trossard. It finished 3-0 at half time and captain, Martin Ødegaard scored 20 minutes from time to seal a 4-0 win for the host to kickoff a fresh start in the competition that have never won in their more than 130 years existence. A confortable win ahead of their North London derby this weekend as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates Stadium this weekend. Hassan Afolabi 

Emma Raducanu confirms end to her season following surgery

Former US Open winner, Emma Raducanu has confirmed she will no longer be involved in any competition this year as she has decided to take time off and fully recover ahead of 2024. The 20-year-old Brit has endured a tough spell since her surprising run in 2021 US Open Championship, where she won the title as a Wildcard, not losing a single set on her way to becoming the youngest Grand Slam winner since Maria Sharapova in 2004. Raducanu, who underwent surgery on both her wrists in May had missed the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open this year and has completed ruled out participation in any championship this year. Talking to the BBC, Raducanu said, "Next season I'll be back. This season all the slams were finished so it was difficult to watch them go by but I was trying to stay in my lane as much as possible and keep focused on my recovery." Hassan Afolabi

Jadon Sancho has been included in Manchester United's squad for the group campaign of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League. Jadon Sancho has been included in Manchester United's Champions League squad. The English winger, in the wake of Manchester United's Premier League defeat at Arsenal, responded to the comments of Erik Ten Hag about his absence, branding it now true. Sancho has been added to a squad which also feature the likes of Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount and Altay Bayindir.
