Haaland has been linked with move away from Borussia Dortmund and all seems to point to the fact, which is that the former RB Salzburg striker will not remain with the Bundesliga side next season.

Barcelona have been rumoured to be one of Haaland’s suitors and it was even reported that Xavi had met with the player's entourage to discuss a possible move, stating that every player wants to join Barcelona when summarizing the meeting.

President Laporta has now revealed that Haaland is a player they would want as he is a quality player but he stressed the fact that they would not do some deals for the club's sake.

Laporta when asked about the signing of 21-year-old Haaland, he replied, “Even if we had the best economic situation, there are operations that we would not do. We will not perform any operation that puts the institution at further risk.”

This comment will not go down well with the Barcelona fans who have been expecting the summer arrival of the centre forward to complement the brilliant work of Xavi Hernandez and restore them back amongst the elite.

Haaland has scored 16 league goals in 15 appearances for Dortmund this season but as he looks increasingly set to leave in the summer, Barcelona missing out will be indirectly strengthening an opposition, most especially if Real Madrid decides to move for him.
