From a neighborhood star to a National showstopper, Camalar Junior is a star for the future

Africa is a home to countless talents, but where opportunities are limited. However, the severeness of talents still make some find their way to the very top, and another name to remember for a few years to come is the 15-year-old midfield sensational, Yakubu Camalar Junior.

Camalar Junior, nicknamed Ney, a name that depicts his likeness to PSG Paris Saint-Germain’s superstar, Neymar Jr because of his play style. Just like Neymar, Camalar Junior has got the dribbling skills, good vision to pick out teammates in promising positions.

Camalar Junior plays any position across the middle of the park and well capable of dictating the tempo of the game thanks to his technicality and willingness to get on the ball and make something happen, something positive to the devastating effect on opposing teams.


Camalar Junior is an ambidextrous player and very creative with his deft touches, he is able to manipulate the ball to wreck havocs on the opposition, whether by playing in a teammate or dribbling his was through to goal.

Being a grassroot talent, 15-year-old Camalar Junior has played for Samseiro FC and FC Minda in Benue state before relocating to Abuja, where he represented A2 Academy Group and Elliot Sporting Organization Academy both in the Federal capital territory of Nigeria.

While in Benue State in the colours of Sanseiro FC, Camalar Junior played in multiple competitions, one of the lot being hosted by Daftrend, an African design company that deals in sports clothes, the competition being played across the State.


Camalar Junior impressed and since the competition is played annually, he won the best player in three different editions, making him a well-known star in the state at a very young age.

Camalar Junior also played in the competition hosted by Nestle and won the most promising talent, including a best playmaker award in the mini league hosted by League Administrators in Nigeria.


Currently training alone as he looks to take his career to the next stage, the breakthrough might be just on the next turn for the ever committed playmaker, Camalar Junior, who is touted to be the next big name in Nigeria football.
