Real Madrid set to capitalize on Barça slip and return to La Liga summit

Barcelona could not find a breakthrough in their clash with Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Friday night and had to settle for a point.

The result means a win for Real in tonight's trip to Sociedad will see them leapfrog the Catalan club to the top of the league standings due to a better head to head against Barcelona.

Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 at the Camp Nou a week to the last match before suspension of games, only to lose 2-1 at Betis and allow Barcelona regain top spot.

Los Blancos will be looking to avoid a shock result this time as the match against Sevilla is just one of the few games Barcelona is expected to drop points in their remaining fixtures.

Both club still have Athletic Bilbao in their respective remaining games while Barcelona will still host Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou, a clash expected to have a big say as to where the title will go this season.

Real Madrid welcomed Marco Asensio back to the squad in their win against Valencia in mid-week with the Spaniard scoring and assisting in his under 30minutes cameo. The club now have lots of options in attack as they enter into the season run-in.
