Bayern bangs Bayer as Dortmund hold firm to second

Bayern Munich came from 1-0 down to beat Leverkusen 4-2 in the BundesLiga matchday 30 as Leipzig fumble at home against Paderborn.


Lucas Alario gave Leverkusen the lead in the 10th minute after being played through by Julian Baumgartlinger. Bayern however, responds three minutes from the half hour mark as Leon Goretzka played Coman through.

Three minutes to go to halftime, Goretzka turns a goal scorer as he was set up by Thomas Müller who recorded his 19th assists of the season.

Gnabry makes it 3-1 to Bayern in the added minutes of the first half, capitalising on Leverkusen's sloppy defense after receiving a pass from Joshua Kimmich.

And from a Thomas Muller's cross, Robert Lewandowski scored his 44th goal in all competitions this season in the 66th minute before two teenagers Florian Wirtz 17, and Paulinho 19, combines as the former beat Manuel Neuer to make 4-2.


Patrik Schick gave the Red Bull club the lead in the 27th minute and were reduced to 10men few minutes from halftime when Upamencano gets his second booking of the match after booting the ball away in frustration.

Leipzig held on till the last moments but we're eventually punished in the added minutes as Christian Strohdiek converts a rebound shot from Ritter to salvage a point for Paderborn.

The German was on the end of a beautiful pass from Julian Brandt in the 57th minute after the later combines beautifully with Jadon Sancho.

Bayern remain in the driving seat while Dortmund also increase the point gap between themselves and third place Leipzig to four.
