Is Billy Gilmour Premier League's next Fàbregas ?

Before the suspension of matches, Chelsea had injury crisis, which leaves boss Frank Lampard no other option than to play 18year old Scottish midfielder Billy Gilmour.

The teenager put in some scintillating performances in the few outings, winning himself the man of the match against European champion, Liverpool and another one against Everton.

The rise of Gilmour has now attract comparison to Cesc Fabregas when the Spaniard joined The Gunners back in 2003.

Fàbregas 33, arrived in England at the age of 16 from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2003 and established himself as one of Arsenal's crucial players the following season.

Gilmour joined Chelsea from Scottish Premiership side Rangers in 2017 and has made his debut this season due to injury to first team players and has made just three appearances but has been impressive in those matches.

Fàbregas also made three appearances in his debut season in England before slotting into the Arsenal first team squad the following season and excelling, making over 40 appearances for Arsenal in the 2004/05 season.

Vision, creativity, passing and the ability to keep the ball from opposition, Gilmour's abilities are more than someone of his age's.

According to who scored, Gilmour recorded 90.1 pass success percentage in matches he has played for Chelsea.

His brilliance is apparent for all to see, however, it remains to be seen whether the former Rangers kid will be given the chance to succeed at Chelsea after when football returns as many injured players are expected to be back to full fitness and in contention for a starting spot.
