Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen secure big wins as Harvetz stars again

Kai Havertz powers Leverkusen to another win in the BundesLiga with his two goals in a 3-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 20-year-old picked up from where he stopped on Monday night when he opened the scoring in the 7th minute, latching onto a cutback from Bellarabi.

Gladbach equalised through Marcus Thuram early in the second half and six minutes later, Havertz dispatched a penalty after Bellarabi was fouled by Nico Elevdi to restore parity for the club from Leverkusen.

Sven Bender ensures the safety of the points nine minutes from time when he headed home a  free-kick from Kerem Demirbay. 3-1 it finished.

Goals from fullbacks Raphael Guerrero and Hakimi Achraf in either half earn Borussia Dortmund maximum points as they beat Wolfsburg 2-0 at the Volkswagen Arena.

Dortmund took the lead through Raphael Guerrero just past the half-hour mark when he capitalized on a cross from Hazard after Braut Erlin Haaland failed to connect.

Jadon Sancho came off the bench to tee up Achraf for the second goal of the match 12 minutes from normal time before second half substitute Felix Claus received his matching order after VAR check condemned his tackle on Manuel Akanji.

Werder Bremen bounced back from their lost to Leverkusen on Monday night with a 1-0 away win at Freiburg. Leonardo Bittencourt's 19th minute strike was enough for them to secure all points as Freiburg could not find an equaliser.

Freiburg missed the chance to move a point ahead of Wolfsburg while Bremen got valuable points in their battle against relegation.

After their goalless draw against Düsseldorf last weekend, Paderborn conceded early in the fourth minute as the visitors find themselves in front when Robert Scov scored from a Pavel Kaderabek pass.

However, the home side were back on level terms five minutes later when Dennis Srbeny scored a beauty from outside of the box to the right corner.

Hoffenheim them went on to dominate the match but neither side could find the breakthrough as they both settle for a draw.

Both side retained their position on the league standings as Paderborn seems to be losing the chances of staying in the topflight next season.

Bayern played Frankfurt in the last fixture of the day and it was business as usual for the Bavarian who led 2-0 at half-time courtesy of goals Leon Goretzka and Thomas Müller.

Goretzka fired home from a Thomas Müller Ball in the 17th minute and few minutes before half-time, Muller gets on the score sheet, benefiting from a cross from Alphonso Davies.

Robert Lewandowski makes it 3-0 seconds after the restart when Kingsley Coman picked him out to nod easily into the net after the Frankfurt defense let the Frenchman run free and Bayern were cruising for a flawless victory.

However, two goals from Martin Hinteregger in the space of three minutes turned the face of the tie but six minutes later, Alphonso Davies pounced on a lose ball to restore parity for the home side before Hinteregger went from hero to zero when he unfortunately played the ball into his own net after Kevin Trapp had made a save to deny Serge Gnabry as it finished 5-2 to the host.

Bayern maintain their four points lead at the top of the league standing with Dortmund in second while Leverkusen moved to third after beating Gladbach.
